Beach pugs

It's been HOTHOTHOT during the day. And, due to extremely poor foresight, we neglected to put central AC into the house. Off to the beach!

Sashacleo had a grand ol' time.
eh? who's that?
it's me!
There was lots of playing and chasing and running to be had. Resulting in some hot pugs.
And some sandy pugs. Little Miss i-like-to-eat-sand.

Poor pug

I've been placing one of the other pugs next to Dee dee's sleeping area at night (the other pug sleeps with us, then we alternate). I thought that if she could see another pug nearby, she would feel more reassured and scream less. Needless to say, the hysterical caterwauling persists, and I end up with 2 exhausted pugs instead of one. and an exhausted mama.

Head tilting is for the pugs

I was starting to wonder if Dee dee is actually a pug and not some mini spazz tazz.

She put my fears at rest. She can head tilt with the best of them -- a true pug!

All that head tilting has exhausted her. Sleepy puglet.

Pink belly alert!

So stinkin' small

It's been so long since Sasha and Cleo were puppies, I forget how small they started out. Little Dee dee is tiny.

She doesn't even reach the height of a step.

Look at those leg wrinkles. Clearly there is some growing to be done.

'Potty training'

That is a cruel joke of a phase if I ever heard one. Dee dee has the bladder the size of a chestnut. which she likes to empty every half an hour. It is IMPOSSIBLE for her to hold it for more than 2 hours, except when under extreme duress (airplane flight) or when sleeping (which she apparently, does not do). So when I cannot watch her like a hawk, for example, when I myself need to powder my nose, I confine her.

She is not a big fan.

She tries to break out. By screaming.

Three pugs!

Dee dee's first meeting with Sashacleo did not go particularly well.

So, after little Miss Rambunctious manages to corral my poor pugs into a corner, she then turns her eager puppy attention to each puglet individually. Cleo was none too pleased to be the recipient of puppy love.

Sasha did not respond any better. Note: at then end of the vid, the reprimand I give to Cleo is because she's... eating Dee dee's untouched dinner.

Our new addition!!

Announcing.... Deedee!!

After flying out to Detroit yesterday morning, I met Kelle (of Arvay pugs), and our new baby! 4# of wriggling, licking, curious puglet! After trying for over an hour to lure her into her crate, unsuccessfully (she was too excited to be interested in treats!), she finally started to doze off. In a sitting position.

That's when I stuffed her into the carrier. Not happy.

She did eventually settle down and sleep.

Once home, she got to meet her new dada! There was love to be had all around.

Cleo is comfy

Husband went away for a long weekend to participate in some male-bonding. The pugs, particularly Sasha, were forlorn. Cleo, for one, is glad to have her dada back. little fetal pug.

Luckily her noggin serves as an excellent hand rest.

Actually, Happiness is...

... a big ol' stinky beef bone. Toothless Sasha gums hers, for what seems to be hours, without any real progress.

This is the only pic we have of Cleo and her bone, before her jaws o' death pulverized it.

Happiness is...

... a pug...

... in her spot of sunshine...

... on her spot of grass.

Apologize for the radio silence

The pugs have been waiting patiently, too.

Cleo was starting to feel even a bit forlorn.
