The only good thing about mani/pedi days...

... are the treats the princesses get afterwards. Sasha takes her time with her treat. She is a very dainty chewer, and does NOT like to make a mess.

Car wash

The cars are filthy. PIL-TEEE. Now that we have an image to project (we are your new, clean neighbors!), I decided to take the cars to the wash. The curious puglets came along. After barking furiously at the nice men soaping and rinsing the car, they completely lost interest in all things automobile.

Clearly, the pugs are not the first dogs to have visited this here parts.

Pug cuddlies

I took a nap with the sweetlets the other day. Nothing better than sleeping with a pile of pug.

Beach time

The puglets had another visitor earlier this month. Dave's dad came out to visit, and of course we promptly piled everyone into the car and went off to the beach. The pugs were delighted. There were no other dogs offering harrassment, so Cleo had a marvelous time.

So did Sasha.

Moving... again

We moved into the new house! So glad to leave the Shack Of Despair! The pugs were very good during the whole move -- no excessive barking or petulant outbursts. They were exhausted tho. I think they also felt unsettled. Because princess Sasha decided to sleep on a pile of packing paper instead of her bed.

Cleo also decided to forgo the comfort of the bed and sleep on the stained mat we discovered in storage, instead.

Note the wide open, comfy bed right next to her.

Sasha luvs Cleo

When we first got Cleo, Sasha was very angry. Very annoyed. Would routiinely body slam the little pup Cleo into large pieces of furniture. Over the years, tho, Sasha has learned to tolerate the younger, more energetic, pug.

or..... does she outright luuuuuuv her???

California pugs

I know I've been very lax about posting lately. It is largely due to -- ok, it's ALL due to -- stupid earthlink and their stupid outsourcing and stupid inability to do something as simple as hook us up with internet at home.

This is a pic from when we first moved out here. I thought it was fitting to commemorate our move into our new house! Little puglets sunning themselves on the deck in the bright CA sun.

Go away, cruel world

Cleo was feeling overwhelmed by life. She decided to retire and strike a melodramatic pose. It won her quite a few shnergles from me.

Left behind?!?

On our walk the other day, we allowed Cleo to be off leash. Normally, she's pretty good about heeling closely. I think it's because she's deeply afraid of being left behind. Well, she started to lag a little. When she looked up and realized she was alone, she panicked. We had a frantically running pug.

Pampered pug

We're lucky to have a whole mess of trails within walking distance -- where we can enjoy sweeping views of the bay, as well as close and personals of the redwoods.

Since Sasha starts to limp towards the end of our walks when her arthritis kicks in, we bought a little puggy bjorn. To carry my princess Sasha when she's not feeling up to the task of moving of her own volition. Dave thinks eventually she'll associate 'walks' with 'being carried'.

Pug-gone tired

Cleo is exhausted. She cannot even rouse herself for an eyeblink.

Princess of the, er, sofa

Cleo likes to find the highest spot on which to rest.
