Sleeping princesses

And in this case, one of the princesses is ME. The other night, Deedee and I actually fell asleep with her cuddled in my arms -- unprecedented for the wriggly puppy.

I maintain that the flash made the puppy open her eyes. She was sleeping, I swear.

No love as great

as the love a puglet has for her dada. In particular, the light-of-life type love that brightens the eyes of our Cleo, when she's nestled on the chest of her dada.

Pug neckwear

As we all know, pugs are on the leading edge of doggie fashion. This fall, in particular, neck drapery is going to be huge. What better way to accessorize the pug princess?

Cleo is modelling the latest in neck fashion, fresh from the runways. It's.... a pug tail. convenient. since we have 3 of them in the house.

Post-vet napping

Well, after all that treat-vacuuming to be had at the vet's, the pugs were exhausted on the drive back home. Sasha in particular, who mind you was not actually examined and barely walked the 50 feet to and from the car to the office, was completely wiped.

my sleepy head is just too heavy to lift

Deedee was also exhausted, altho one could argue she had a right to be since she spent nearly 1 million calories fighting the eye examination with every fiber of her being.

no amount of treats will make me forget the trauma but u can certainly try

Wait, did Deedee develop a single, prematurely greying paw? No, that's Cleo's.

Cleo, like a good sister who just got stuffed full of vicarious treats, is offering up her arm as a snuggle pillow.

Cleo's arm wasn't good enough. Only her entire body would suffice.

Yet another visit to the vet

This time, it's just for Deedee. Back to the eye vet, to followup on the cloudiness that has developed on the puppy's eyeballs.

what kind of terrible situation is this?

Needless to say, she got stuffed with treats within an inch of her life. Thus making the vet's assistant, the puppy's fave person in the universe.

that big light-thingy in the corner must be a large treat dispenser

Sasha and Cleo, on the other hand, were just DELIGHTED to be there. At the vet's, with nary a hand laid upon them, and rewarded with treats nonetheless.

I think Cleo is starting to see the advantages of having a little sister.

take her! take her! not me!

Pug napping

I'm not sure why the pugs bother waking up the morning. Because after they're fed, and walked, they all immediately RUSH back to our bed.

god what a stressful morning i've had

no reason to open my eyes

what's with all this inner dialogue?

Snuggly pugs. Needless to say, there was extensive shnergling after these pics were taken.

Working it at the Car Wash

The pug-transporting mobile was filthy. The pugs doth protested. So off to the car wash we went. Why didn't I wash it myself? BECAUSE THAT'S NOT WHAT I DO. anyhoo. The super nice guys at the car wash in our town know the girls and me (as the crazy lady), so all pugs got a treat when we checked in. And were rewarded with a surreptitious kiss during the preliminary rinse.

Deedee says - i love u. gimme more treats.

Cleo was not pleased. She kept trying to climb onto my lap for protection.

While waiting for the car to be dried and cleaned (of massive amounts of pug fur, ahem), Sasha committed herself to a thorough investigation of the area. Note the inquisitive snot on the nose.

Actually, there was a lot of pug investigation to be had.

Sasha is getting old

Well, no one is getting any younger. The thing with a black pug, tho, is that as she gets grey, all her imperfections start to show more. Like the dark-brown staining around Sasha's eyes and mouth.

I don't know what it is -- I think it may have to do with something fungal BUT ANYWAY I am determined to get rid of it.

So I bought this 'whitener' at the pet store today. We'll see how it goes. This is Sasha, Day 0. I don't think I need to tell you how unhappy she is.

i hate u

Even more loot

New fall outfits weren't the only things the puglets got from that cute little store in Kansas City. ooooooh, no. They also got carob-dipped, coconut macarons! (gluten-free, for the allergic pug, no one wants to end a fun-filled night with the pug runs).

The girls were appreciative.

Feisty Pugs

All that modeling of outerwear has put a little bounce back into the senior pug's step. Makes Sasha feel just energetic enough to try and maul the puppy.

Deedee fights back.

i show YOU what i can do

Note how perfectly they're showing off their new coats, to best advantage.

New fall wardrobe

Well, it's that time of the year again. The air is getting crisper, the leaves are starting to fall, and the temperature -- well ok, so out here we're having a bit of an Indian Summer, so there's really no significant drop in temp. THAT BEING SAID, the pug princesses must adhere to fashion mandates. New fall coats for all. These particular coats were bought at the cutest doggie bakery/boutique ever, in Kansas City, of all places.

Cleo gets more than a hint of pink. So that there's no mistaking her for anything other than a girl.

Sasha gets regal red. As always.

Deedee gets the one that's as cute as a button, because, well, she is a button.

give us a treat, demmit.

Snugglepug

Normally, Cleo doesn't like to be around when football is on TV. There's probably too much yelling and gesticulating for the sensitive pug. Strangely enough, Monday night football is apparently the exception to the rule.

i will shove myself in my dada's armpit for protection

Pug jaws vs Tiger jaws

The tiger toy has made a re-appearance. That is, after being completely and 100% ignored by all pugs for weeks, all of the sudden it has become Cleo's Toy Du Jour.

She is fierce.

She is ferocious.

Cleo will show that fluffy tiger a thing or two. (Note: Deedee creeping about, in the background)

Deedee would also like an opportunity to school the tiger toy.
