Lazy morning

It's sort of a gross Christmas Eve -- all grey, cloudy and drizzling. A perfect morning to stay a bit longer in bed. Cleo agrees. as she usurps my warm spot in bed and shoves her butt onto my pillow.

The puppy refuses to leave her warm, snug crate. Always full of the surprise peeps, she does not get to share the bed.

The elder pug of many years, with the miracle bladder, stretches languidly out onto the bed.

stop taking flash pics, mama. it's annoying.

Twin pugs??

They look remarkably similar, don't they?

Passed out pugs

We went to play in Tahoe this past weekend, in the season's first major snowfall!

The pugs stayed home in warmth and comfort. And, after a weekend of lots of walks and attention, they're pooped.

Pug spots on the sofa

Each pug has her fave spot on the sofa. Sasha likes to burrow her head, preferably behind a cushion.

wha, mama?

Cleo is keeping a close eye on the goings on in the kitchen.

Deedee's latest spot is the top of the sofa.

She's sort of dribbling down the cushion.

New sweater

The massive puppy has already outgrown her frilly sweater. At this rate, she'll be sharing clothes with me by the time she's one year old. So I knit her another sweater, a little large so that this time she can wear it for more than a couple of weeks.

She looks unhappy? Certainly not because of the hood that is quashing her ears to her head. I maintain that it's because I just dragged her out of her crate from a serious nap.

Yoga pug

Sasha is a very curious pug. She likes to investigate all things, particularly when they're on the ground. Like yoga mats.

Sasha is also a very limber pug -- note her perfect form with Upward Facing Dog.

not for long! says Cleo, as she takes this opportunity to interrupt Sasha's concentration.

wha, mama? were u planning on doing some yoga? would u like to wrestle too??

New garage floor needs to be tested

While I was out, playing in Vegas, husband spent the majority of his weekend installing tile floor in his favorite room -- the garage. Deedee helped.

As a matter of fact, she loved the new floor so much, she promptly peeped on it.

Post-Thanksgiving food coma

oh. I meant the husband, not the pugs.

I knit Deedee a new hat in preparation for the colder weather.

Needless to say, a pug's almost perfectly round head does not lend itself well to keeping a hat on without completely covering up the eyeballs. The little scarf-like ties I added barely keep it on her active little noggin.

i am mistress of the universe!

Deedee says -- i am powerful pug! all who see me shake in fear!

Sasha says -- what. keep it down, twerpie.

hep' me..

Somepug is getting crushed.

I won't say which pug, but I will say that it is currently the Monster Puppy's fave.

oh, ok. it's Sasha.

Who's hiding?

Who could that be? Which puglet is shielding her world-weary eyes?

It's Sasha, of course.

Cleo is not so disenchanted.

i need my beauty sleep

Poor Sasha. She has not been sleeping well at all. Neither have we, actually, since Deedee has been afflicted with a case of the nigthttime barfies. Nothing worse than waking up to -- sniff? mearpf. meeeeearpf? BWAAAAh! BWAAAAAAh! BLEEEEEEECHHH! Poor blind Sasha gets startled awake and starts to bark and jump all over the bed (and us). It does not make for a restful night.

i luuuuuuv my toy

These stupid loofah toys have the lifespan of a noodle, but cost a ridiculous amount. I scored a couple at our local froo-froo, super-unfriendly doggie store (which I continue to patronize out of convenience, only, I swear). They were having a post-Halloween sale. Deedee, like a true bargain hunter female, loves her post-Halloween bargain bin loofah toy above all.

Jail pug puppy

We spent the better part of last weekend in the garden, with the pugs. Well, initially at least. After sniffing and peeping on everything in our yard, Sasha and Cleo retired to the deck to snooze in the sun. Deedee... decided to take culinary interest in one of the non-edible plants I had just transplanted. So she got confined to the deck as well.

Could she be any more pathetic.

Note: she is perfectly capable of climbing down the stairs. She just chooses to be melodramatic.

Deedee's new retreat

The enormous puppy is getting too big for her crate. So we went out and got her one that's the next size up. It's MUCH more roomy. No more squeezing puppy out of crate like toothpaste in the morning, when she doesn't want to wake up.

Wait. That's not Deedee.

i luuuuuuv you

I think.... I THINK... that Cleo tolerates the Deedels.

Maybe even likes her a little bit.

Stairway to the garden

We had nothing to do with this. Our perseverant dogwalker managed to teach Deedee to go down the stairs.

"Come" when called, however, is not a command in her puppy-sized arsenal.

Another vet appointment for Deedee

This time, to get the staples out. She had a little bit of a reaction to the staples, which is why it looks like she has a double set of udders.

And... she is 9.6#!! She is Massive Puppy!

Thursday, November 13, 2008

Where's Cleo?

I have no idea why she's not on the sofa, instead.

Puppy belly

Poor Deedee. Little belly is unhappy with the staples. Doesn't slow her down AT ALL, tho.

Surrounded by pug

Sasha and Cleo have their own preferred spots when accompanying us at the desk.

Poor Sasha

Why is Sasha so woebegone? There she is, lying comfortably on a plush throw on her very own daybed...

oh. she's not alone.
