Welcome! It's Rikki!

I have been just BURSTING at the seams with this Holiday Surprise! The puglets' cousin Bunni has a new sister -- Rikki! She joined Bunni in Manhattan a week before Christmas, but we were keeping it hush-hush as a surprise for the grandpugparents.

Rikki was a little shy at first. Deedee welcomed her to the family with a toy offering.

Fearsome guard pugs

Beware! All ye who dare to trespass! For this home is protected by no less than 3 savage pug beasts!

And Cleo will apparently be attacking you from her firmly ensconced position on the sofa.

'Walking' the pugs

As I have mentioned before, the puglets have a jogger to which they retire when the length of our walk becomes overwhelming. Originally obtained for the grand poobah (aka Miss Fatty), the jogger has now had to be modified to accomodate both of our aging pugs.

ahem. I said 'aging' -- as in elderly. Not 'pesty' or 'curious'.

Deedee disagrees. She's sure there's gotta be some room in there for her, too.

A pug's first Chrismas orange

Apparently there is some Xmas tradition out there, somewhere, that involves Xmas and oranges. Whatever the reason, it always seems that the holidays are a perfect time to down one, or two, or several, of the juicy segments. While it is well-established as one of Sasha and Cleo's fave snacks (altho, since it gives Cleo the, ummm, runs, it's been moved to the banned item list along with chocolate, raisins and garlic), Deedee has never had the pleasure.

So, since the Big Pieces Of Food were around, she got the opportunity to try it. As you can see, Deedee is undecided with regards to oranges. I, on the other hand, will move it to the banned list purely in an effort to save my furniture.

Deedee is reunited with her friend!

Peanut was in town for a quick visit! He and Deedee were just delighted to see each other again.

OK so maybe the delight was mostly on the Deedee end.

Peanut was kind of exhausted by all the puppy attention.

Lazy weekend

We spent a nice lazy weekend indoors. Party due to the rain, and party due to feeling under the weather. All the more time to spend snuggling the pugs.

Welcome, Naomi!

The pugs dragged us off to Santa Cruz this past weekend to say hello to their new friend, Naomi! Not even a week old yet, and already the subject of much pug attention. Cleo and Deedee decide to get closer for a better sniff.

Deedee, as per usual, gets distracted with other things.

Both pugs completely abandon any interest in the baby, what with jockeying for best photo-op position.

Sasha is not at all interested. She's been there, done that.

Introducing Deedee, the One-Pug Groomer

The puppy is a stickler for cleanliness. She likes to keep her sisters clean. Cleo, in particular, has a lot of ear cleaning needs.

So does Sasha, but she is clearly not as pleased about the whole process.

The normally incredibly private puppy does deign to be snuggled every once in a while. Funny, how she loves to give love, but very rarely likes to snuggle. Luckily, her mama was well-positioned for a snuggly moment.

I'm still not sure how Cleo feels about it, but she seems to be tolerating the puppy's affection.

Some mornings, it's just impossible to leave a pug. Or three. It's all a mama can do, to turn away from such perfect cuteness and walk out the door.

Lazy Sunday

In between several barfing episodes all over the house, Cleo managed to get in some good lounging.

Prescription for feeling blue

First, start with as many pugs as you can gather. In this case, Cleo and Deedee (Sasha had wisely hidden herself away).

Drape yourself with the accumulated number of pug.

Feel the warmth and crushing weight of pug start to ease the sorrows away.
